SUMMARY:Intercultural School Program
DESCRIPTION:Africause aims to develop an intercultural school program across Australia; the vision is to work hand in hand with schools\, both primary and secondary schools to reduce the number of children of the African background quitting schools before completing year high school. The program initial phase is designed to start in Victoria and may rollout to other states\, it depends on its success. \nThe intercultural School Program will serve as a valuable practical resource for teachers and learners\, curriculum developers\, policy makers. intercultural education is a response to the challenges facing Australia education system; especially\, with children of African backgrounds. This program will deliver quality education for all. Schools can book or request consultation visit from Africause. The visit can be arranged 2 weeks advanced.

Please help with interested homework support volunteers in Flemington housing commission. \nAt least you make one child success in their school for children lacking access to basic support in their everyday schooling challenges. Helping these disadvantaged children is like seeding hope for future generations. \nThe only requirement for the homework support volunteer is police check\, and have volunteer working with children to help us create a safe learning environment & protect the target children. \nThe students are from prep to year 12. The majority of students need English and maths as a priority to improve their academic level and maintain their schooling standards. \nAfricause is a not for profit and charitable organisation dedicated to help refugee and asylum seekers children success in their schooling. \nOur homework program is not funded & is run by volunteers for over 20 years. DESCRIPTION:BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SKILLS TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR AFRICAN AUSTRALIAN COMMUNITY \nAfricause is committed to support African Australian community to develop and facilitate opportunities in a wide different sort of aspects\, in this case supporting businesses to work together\, thrive and contribute to the local and African community. Africause has been an integral part of the community\, supporting business to connect through a variety of networking events and workshops\, by assisting with community access\, by being involved in community functions\, and by helping connect your business to local and state governments. At the moment\, as part of a grant received by Government\, Africause has partnered with VACC to offer free workshops to support NDIS service providers and community leaders upskilling with a better understanding of the system and support compliance with legal requirements. Thus\, providing a better service and more positive outcomes for their NDIS participants and clients. \nAfricause has contacted some of the highest qualified professionals from organisations like Progressive Care Solutions to support their members up-skilling. The current training sessions include community leaders\, members and organisations who are registered or looking for a registration as NDIS providers. \nThis training has 5 sessions programmed via zoom\, where members meet every week to participate in cultural appropriate training sessions that allow them to understand concepts and regulations regarding NDIS scheme.  Our participants have been actively engaging\, some of the topics that have been discussed during the sessions are: \n\nUnderstanding the concept of NDIS\, history and all relationships with the stakeholders involved and their obligations with the NDIA\, funded supports available\, CALD communities’ involvement and NDIS cultural diversity strategy.\nTo gain skills on accounting and budgeting for NDIS.\nRegistration to the NDIS process and considering recruitment skills and HR practises. Including policies and procedures in the course of delivering supports and services\, assessing compliance and the NDIS Code of Conduct.\nUsing the NDIS portal and the importance of staff training regarding this system.\nEducation about the use of IT programs (excel) for reporting and planning.\n\nThis project has diverse benefits for organisations and general community\, as NDIS provider’s organisations will get knowledge and skills on managing and responding and being compliant towards the scheme and the community will have access to the services in a familiar environment where they can feel accepted and valued.
