Synopsis
Currently, many families and individuals are facing financial hardship due to the current cost of living increase with bills, shopping, rental, and other living requirements. Africause is playing it’s role to help and support members of the diverse local communities struggling to survive with the financial hardship. Africause is a sponsor from fines Victoria to alleviate the financial hardship of our communities. Thus, most members with financial hardship after receiving Africause support with their fines to manage; they are back to work and normal life.
Currently, We have around 100 clients, with a total cost of fines $363,510.63. The Work Development Program (WDP) Participants fines per individual with a minimum of $99.00 and a maximum of up to $40k. However, the mean average fine of the WDP participants is $3,786.
Our WDP clients are mainly people facing financial hardship due to mainly domestic violence victims, mental health and drug and alcohol victims, single mothers/fathers, Asylum seekers, mainly Centrelink payment recipients, etc. Some clients referred by agents, others by word of mouth, or via legal aid lawyers, family, and friends, etc. We serve a wide range of client’s backgrounds with majority been from African, Middle Eastern, and other nationalities like Anglo Saxons, Jewish and southeast Asians, Afghanise, Turkish, etc.
